The attractive and historic village of Smeeton Westerby was originally two separate settlements within the ancient parish of Kibworth. The village became a separate parish in the 19th century and is situated half a mile south of Kibworth Beauchamp.

Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Orders

The parish council has received confirmation from Leicestershire County Council of amendments to various public footpaths in the the village. More information can be found here.

Extra garden waste collection

Residents in the Harborough district who have already subscribed to the council's garden waste collection service will receive an extra green bin collection during the weeks commencing 9th and 16th January. Please click here for more information.

Vehicle Activated Sign

Vehicle Activated Sign

Councillors and volunteers of Smeeton Westerby are now analysing the data provided by the new Vehicle Activated Sign that has been used in the village through October and November. The sign is a traffic calming initiative purchased in conjunction with Fleckney Parish Council in an effort to encourage drivers to reduce their speed when driving through the village. The data retrieved will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting on 6th December 2016.
