TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER - MILL LANE SMEETON

PRESS RELEASE

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above location. A closure is required on Mill Lane Smeeton, Between Kibworth Road and Main Street. The closure will commence on the 7th August 2017 and remain in place for a period of 5 days. Parish Council Precept

The Parish Council has today published a Precept Briefing document which aims to provide parishioners with as much information as possible on the recent increases in the household parish council component of your recent council tax bill. The increase on the average Band D property equates to an increase from £20.17 in 2016/17 to £50.78 in 2017/18. Vehicle Activated Sign

Vehicle Activated Sign

Councillors and volunteers of Smeeton Westerby are now analysing the data provided by the new Vehicle Activated Sign that has been used in the village through October and November. The sign is a traffic calming initiative purchased in conjunction with Fleckney Parish Council in an effort to encourage drivers to reduce their speed when driving through the village. The data retrieved will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting on 6th December 2016.. Read More »

At the May meeting of Smeeton Westerby Parish Council, Councillors said goodbye to the Chair Cllr. Michael Shaw and Cllr. Howard Taylor. Purchase of Vehicle Activated Sign

In partnership with Fleckney Parish Council, Smeeton Westerby Parish Council has recently purchased a Vehicle Activated Sign for use within the village. The Council has sought appropriate permissions from Leicestershire County Council and the unit is due to be put to use in late October 2016 for a period of 6 weeks.
